What do you do? We need help!
By Mark W. Maguire

We've got a cold going around the office and, of course, when you're fighting a cold everyone has advice.

Sinus Buster, Neti Pot, lots of garlic, rest, exercise, peppers, zinc and the list goes on.

I usually do a mix of all of the above. Does it help? There is really no way to tell, but at least I feel like I am making an active effort.

What about you? Do you have a surefire way to beat a cold? Why don't you share it with us.

When you say lots of garlic, did you mean with every meal? First day, I’ll have scrambled eggs with garlic, onions, green & red bell peppers and then for lunch, sauté garlic before pouring in a can of “Chicken Noodle” soup and have some Texas toast.

By dinner, your taste buds don’t really care what you eat, so go ahead mix a clove of fresh garlic in just about anything…bake a chicken breast smothered in garlic (and onions if you like.) Steam broccoli, yes with some garlic. Hopefully even if you feel like leaving the house, you’ll refrain, because by now they will smell you coming around the corner, which is great for others. Besides, why would you want to infect them?

For the sinuses, take a tablespoon of honey and mix a teaspoon of cinnamon in a spoon, then sip or lick on it for a snack. I find it’s good with a banana, which has potassium, that you more-than-likely need. Try to get some calcium without having dairy, which causes many to have problems with their sinuses in the first place. Eat an orange or have some juice for another snack that first day. If all else fails, take a Benadryl, it’ll knock you out and maybe it was just allergies anyway.
