Nowhere south of Asheville’s famed Grove Park Inn will you find rolling vistas like the ones at The Highlands Course at Lake Arrowhead. Nestled among the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the breathtaking mountain peaks provide the backdrop of this world class 18-hole golf course designed by renowned architect D.J. DeVictor. With five sets of tees at each hole, The Highlands Course is both challenging enough for golf aficionados and forgiving enough for casual golfers and beginners. Although DeVictor kept five holes from the course’s previous layout, he redesigned the greens and tee boxes while creating 13 brand new holes each boasting a unique elevation.

Opened in October 2008, The Highlands Course at Lake Arrowhead is a semi-private course that features a driving range, practice putting green and separate short game area in addition to the full course. For those interested in the 19th hole, the club also features The Highlands Grill, that dishes up everything from Sunday brunch to bimonthly themed dinners. As General Manager and Director of Golf Mark Williams said, “You can live here, learn here and play here.”
