During her two years as president of the BridgeMill Sixes Service League, Kathy Fulton oversaw all of the group’s charitable events. The nonprofit organization was founded in 2000 by a group of women who wanted to give back to the community. Fulton began volunteering with the league five years ago, helping with food drives, outreach programs and fundraisers. “Helping people makes you so grateful for your life and other blessings,” said Fulton, a BridgeMill resident. “We feel like we really make a difference in the community.” Last year, Fulton, along with her husband Darryl and Marlyn and and Jay Patouillet, got the idea to start a golf tournament to give men in the community an opportunity to participate in the service league. The Golf FORE Charity tournament raised over $10,000 in both 2010 and 2011. BridgeMill resident and service league member Linda Arvanetes said Fulton was an exceptional leader. “As president of the Bridgemill Sixes Service League she was always available to listen to members’ concerns as well as reaching out to our community’s needs. And she always did it with a smile,” said Arvanetes.
