An explanation of the Honey Butter name is forthcoming … but this downtown Wood-stock boutique is a sweet addition to any neighborhood.
Honey Butter was designed for both moms and daughters. While it is fashion forward, it also contains very affordable clothes, jewelry, accessories and gifts. Its sister location is in Vir-ginia Highlands, and both shops showcase natural and earthy whimsical décor. Walk in the door and you will note the tropical fans mixed with track lighting and modernistic chandeliers, sprin-kled with large neutral-toned artwork. They work together to create an uptown Bohemian feel.
Jewelry is very prominently displayed throughout the shop. While it is mostly upscale costume jewelry, the shop also features sterling silver plus a few designer brands. A trademark of Honey Butter is buy two pieces of jewelry, get the third piece free.
The clothing is casual and comfortable - cute party dresses and eye-catching jean tops are staples. Because merchandise is geared to both mothers and daughters (skewed slightly more towards mothers), the featured clothes are flattering and upbeat but certainly not over the top. When asked for advice regarding any styles moms should avoid versus clothing for their daugh-ters, owner Shannon Vincent comments, “Most moms today, and certainly in this area, take very good care of themselves, so they can appropriately wear more youthful looks than previous gen-erations. If it fits well and looks good, it’s more than acceptable!”
In addition to the jewelry and clothing assortments, the shop features enticing shoes and sandals, large totes and convenient clutches, sunglasses, bath and body products and fabulous gifts.
All right, but now back to the question. Why is it called Honey Butter? As a kid, Vincent stirred honey and butter together every day for a special treat – just one of those favorite things in life. It seemed the perfect message when naming his boutique of delicious fashionable treasures.
